Creating Pysanky Eggs

DATE: Tuesday 3/24/26   TIME: 6:00pm - 8:00pm

Pysanky, the ancient Ukrainian art of decorating eggs, dates back to prehistoric times and was believed to protect against evil spirits, celebrate the return of spring, and bring good fortune. The process involves applying layers of beeswax to an egg's surface, then dipping it in colorful dyes to create intricate designs, ranging from simple to highly complex patterns inspired by nature, geometry, and animals. Join our expert instructor to learn the basic techniques of this stunning art form just in time for Easter!

Want more practice time? Due to its popularity, this annual tradition will be followed by an optional Saturday open practice session - an opportunity to practice decorating pysanky eggs in a social environment. Learn more here!
